BODY

Here is a picture of my hood, as I got it. Luckily, I can now buy a new one from Sterling Sports Cars.
As you MIGHT be able to see, the hood is badly cracked across the right nostril and the nose of it is dinged up pretty badly.
What you can't see from this image are all the spider cracks in the gel coat. A local body shop to gave an estimate to fix it....$1400.00.... uh.... I'll pass, thanks.

Here, you CAN see the cracks and missing gel coat. Ugly ugly ugly...

I am working on customizing the taillights on my Sterling, typically they look like this. Kinda ugly and outdated. (the plate frame is from the previous owner, who kept the frame. Which is fine, I didn't want people thinking my name is Judy...)

This is what I am planning on doing. These will be recessed into the back of the car and probably have a clear or smoked lens covering them for protection... and cool factor (yeah the one on the bottom left is a little wonky). I will build a "bumper" for the area the lights usually go and incorporate a license plate holder and reverse lights.

This is what I plan on doing to recess the tail lights into the body. I vacuum-formed 3/32 sheets of ABS to make "buckets" for the lights to sit in. Click HERE for more info on vacuum-forming. This is just the running light mode, I don't have a picture yet of them in brake mode. I'll get one.
