Toshiba America Business Solutions is the copier division of Toshiba Corporation. Primary focus was working remotely with the Oracle Implementation Team to extract data from U.S. based copier dealers’ legacy systems, work with end users on data cleansing and prepare the data for importing into Toshiba’s main Oracle system. Major Accomplishments: o Reverse translated MS Access 97 database used for prior conversions, converted it to Access 2003 and modified the objects and VBA code so it would accommodate multiple dealer conversions. o Using MS Access, VBA, SQL Server and Oracle, extract data and prepare files for Supply Chain conversion consisting of Item Master, Product Categories, Price List, Approved Supplier List, Sourcing Rules, On Hand Inventory, Default Receiving Locations, Default Warehouse Bin Locations, Vendor Names, Vendor Sites and Vendor Contacts. o Design, write program specifications, test and run Oracle application to generate Excel spreadsheets for user cleanup and prepare final files for importing into Oracle production environment. o Develop Access database to reconcile On Hand data extracts with legacy system Inventory Valuation Reports both before and after conversion. o Work with copier dealer IT Department to extract legacy system data (OMD and LaCrosse systems) and map to Oracle tables. o Perform extensive analysis on user data and notify users of changes required to their legacy system data and/or configure Oracle override tables to handle the exceptions. o Using MS Access, develop a data dictionary of all tables used in the conversion application and write VBA code to generate Oracle CREATE TABLE scripts for all tables. o Develop an intranet web site for the project to provide users with project information and links to applications, training documents, calendars and issues using IIS virtual folders to link to a server where the documents were stored by the implementation team. Typical conversions spanned 4-5 months and dealt with 3 copier dealers at a time. Converted over 21 dealers during my tenure. Site logged over 950,000 hits per month. o Much of the web content was extracted from the legacy system (OMD) and processed using MS Access 97 VBA modules and later converted to MS Access 2003 and later migrated to SQL Server. o Intranet reporting was developed using Microsoft ASP language and interfaced with MS Access, SQL Server and Oracle. o Awarded Northwest District 2001 Administrative Employee of the Year for the contribution the Intranet made in the district being awarded 2001 District of the Year.
